Allergy and autoimmune disorders account for a large and growing portion of today's health concerns – but they can be controlled and treated. Effective treatment today requires nothing less than a comprehensive bifocal approach, one that combines Chinese medicine pattern differentiation with advanced functional medicine insights.
Allergy disorders are essentially the result of a pre-existing hypersensitivity terrain that causes over-reactive immune functions – triggered by internal or external pathogenic conditions. Hypersensitivity actually creates a wider range of allergy and autoimmune disorders than was originally thought; these include food allergies, allergic rhinitis, allergic asthma, otitis media, psoriasis, Hashimoto's thyroiditis and interstitial cystitis. To effectively treat these, their basic underlying key pathologies need to be evaluated and treated. We can define these from the case-history as three fundamental, longterm patterns.
This seminar will provide the detailed clinical tools necessary for evaluating and treating allergy and autoimmune conditions with an integrated treatment approach. We will highlight Western and Chinese herbs that have proven particularly effective in treatment, as well as important single oils. We will discuss typical approaches to treatment and formula building, based largely on the presenter's own experience.
"I liked the comprehensive, thoughtful analysis of the root cause of allergies and autoimmune disorders. The seminar was too short! Peter has so much knowledge, I could listen for at least another 8 hrs for him to be able to go into even more detail."
